About

Washington Advent Christian Campground was founded in 1886 by Reverend George Weeks. The campground is rooted in the Advent Christian denomination which proclaims boldly the eminent return of Christ. Churches and families have gathered on the grounds for a week each year to worship, fellowship, and encourage each in the faith. Two weeks of youth camp are offered during the summer as well.

Located in Knox county, the campground sees attendees from many towns throughout New England.

Much has changed since its founding so many years ago. Many cottages have been built, rebuilt, and renovated. The tabernacle has been built and rebuilt after heavy snow caused the roof to collapse years ago. A new dining hall was built in 2017 after a devastating fire in the fall of 2016. But what hasn't changed is the unwavering truth of Christ's soon return, the need to share Christ's love with a hurting world, and the importance of gathering together in Christian community. Lives are changed, truth is preached, and God is honored on these grounds.

Mission

Convinced of the imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, Washington Advent Christian Church exists to Encourage, Equip and Empower those who come here to be obedient to His Great Commandment and Great Commission.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:162 Peter 1:20-21)

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4Matthew 28:19)

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (Philippians 2:6-111 Peter 3:18Romans 5:9Matthew 26:64)

  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. (Titus 3:4-7)

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (John 14:15-18John 16:13John 16:7-11)

  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (1 Corinthians 15:10-23John 5:28-29)

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22-23Acts 2:41-47)
